Sisterhood Event-11/21 @ West Allis Central High School

"I'M A GIRL, JUST AN ORDINARY GIRL!" Kickoff event is for adolescent girls ages 8-18 and their mom/adult female figure to enjoy a day..."Just for Girls." This program is for girls in West Allis, West Milwaukee and the WAWM School District, and will be held at West Allis Central High School, 85th & Lincoln, on Saturday, November 21st, from 10:30 AM - 3:00 PM. The schedule will be: 10:30 - 11:40 - Registration, exhibits, light lunch, 11:45 - 12:30 - Introductions/Keynote Speaker, Miss West Allis, 12:45 - 2:45 - three separate 1/2 hour breakout sessions, with Closing & Door Prizes.

Breakout Sessions include some topics like: Art Therapy, Journaling Techniques, Friendships and Aggression, Healthy Eating/Self-Body Image, Anxiety & Depressions, Positive Relationships & Dating, Skin Care/Makeup/Accessorizing on a Budget, Texting & Sexting Dangers, etc.

Exhibitors include: Cornerstone Counseling, Aurora Women's Center, WA Police Dept, WAC, YMCA, Pathfinders, Mary Kay, MUTT Team, etc. just to name a few.

By sponsoring this event, we hope to:

Connect adolescent girls and their moms/adult females mentors to community resources that will help them through their teen years. To obtain information on new programs-resources to assist them with self-esteem, body image, relationships & our society.

Opportunity for teenage girls to get together with their peers and experience fun and healthy ways to deal with life. To inspire, nuture, mentor the girls to be leaders of tomorrow.
