Central boys cross country
Senior Tyler Miletti captured 57th place with 16 minutes, 43 seconds in the WIAA Division 1 State Meet on Saturday at Wisconsin Rapids.
Miletti was the top West Allis boys finisher, nipping Milan Stojanovic of Hale, who took 61st place.
"It has been tremendous working with Tyler," said head coach David Rudey, "and I am impressed daily with Tyler's consistent approach, his leadership and his great efforts in and out of the classroom.
"I'm really looking forward to working with him in track to see what else we can accomplish."
West Allis swimming, diving
Emily Fuchs led a group of three top-16 divers for the Wave in Saturday's Greater Metro Conference Meet at Brookfield Central.
Fuchs finished 10th with 271.6 points, while Cierra DuFay took 11th (269.5) and Morgan Ziolecki 15th (245.75).
Also finishing 10th was the 200 freestyle relay team of Cortney Wery, Tara Kelley, Jessica Drews and Brianna Kulas (2:04.14).
Coming in 11th were the 200 medley group of Larissa Mickelson, Jamie Trapp, Sydney Jewell and Brittany House (2:33.68); the 200 freestyle unit of Anna Jatczak, Nikki Pegarsch, Amber Kupferschmidt and Victoria Storch (2:13.67); and the 400 freestyle corps of House, Drews, Kelley and Kulas (4:41.18).
The 400 freestyle squad of Mickelson, Jewell, Jessa Meier and Trapp captured 12th (5:18.48).
The Wave scored 88 points for sixth in the meet.
The West Allis junior varsity team came in fourth in its GMC meet, led by Haley Marie Asher, fourth in the 200 freestyle and fifth in the 500 freestyle; Katherine Justham, seventh in the 100 butterfly; and Danielle Vizcaino, seventh in the 100 backstroke.
The varsity competes in a WIAA Division 1 sectional at 2 p.m. Nov. 3 at Waukesha South.
Greenfield swimming, diving
Brooke Charles claimed third in the 100 breaststroke at a school-record 1 minute, 12.09 seconds in the Woodland Conference Meet on Saturday at Greenfield High School.
Cayla Mrnik finished 15th in the 100 freestyle (1:02.37), and two relay teams also placed 15th, the 200 medley group of Mrnik, Charles, Phoebe Muszynski and Kristina Nguyen (2:13.5); and the 200 freestyle squad of Charles, Sydney Fricker, Muszynski and Mrnik (2:01.79).
Head coach Tim Locke also praised the efforts of Muszynski (1:07.43) and Kari Krizan (1:08.47) in the 100 freestyle.
The Hustlin' Hawks placed 12th in the meet with 26 points.
They will take part in a WIAA Division 1 sectional at Kenosha Tremper on Nov. 3.
Hale boys volleyball
The Huskies fell to Brookfield East, 25-11, 23-25, 25-10, 25-21, in a WIAA regional match on Friday night.
Parker Voller led them in kills with 25, while Savaughn Boston collected a team-high 25 assists and Zach Bohmann 18 digs.
The loss ended the season for Hale.
Central boys volleyball
The Bulldogs saw their season end with a 25-9, 25-15, 25-11 loss to Wauwatosa West in a WIAA regional on Friday.
Central loses seniors Dominic Craig, Mike Brown and Zach Holmes.
Greenfield/Whitnall boys volleyball
The Raptors lost to Pius XI, 25-12, 25-22, 25-17, in WIAA regional play on Friday to see their season end.
They had earlier beaten Kenosha Indian Trail, 25-23, 21-25, 25-14, 25-14, in a non-conference match on Oct. 22 behind 21 kills and seven aces from Skylar Czaplewski, 42 assists and six aces by Kurt Storvik, 14 digs by Kyle Hanneken and four blocks by Calvin Beebe.
Seniors are Hanneken, Beebe and Parambir Singh.
