The Hustlin' Hawks appeared to be in trouble on Dec. 4 against New Berlin West, trailing 44-28 early in the fourth quarter.
That's when Ricky Santiago went to work.
The senior guard poured in 25 points in the fourth period and two overtimes to help lift Greenfield to a 71-64 victory. He finished with a game-high 34 points, including 12 of 13 at the free throw line.
After falling behind by 16 in the fourth, the Hawks went to a press, and the tactic worked as Greenfield outscored West 22-6 in the rest of regulation.
The Hawks also hit five 3-point field goals down the stretch, including a pair from Santiago.
Regulation ended at 50-50, and the Hawks held a lead midway through the first overtime. West, though, forced a second extra session with a long 3-pointer at the buzzer. The Hawks then controlled the second overtime.

Against Shorewood, the Huskies saw a 20-point lead slip to three, but they recovered to secure the victory.
