Hale boys soccer

Neil Dombrowski returns to West Allis Hale as the new head coach this season, and his team has started 3-0, without allowing any goals last week.

The Huskies blanked Greenfield, 4-0, on Saturday as freshman forward Kevin Mesich tallied three goals and freshman forward Alex Sykes one.

They also shut out Lake Country Lutheran, 5-0, on Aug. 16 and University School, 4-0, on Aug. 14 behind goals from junior midfielder Josh Burke, Mesich, Sykes and junior midfielder Bobby Saskowski.

Dombrowski said senior midfielder/defender Alex Kaul will also play a key role this season.

"We've had a good week," Dombrowski said, "but the real tests are just ahead as we begin (Greater Metro) Conference play. We have some very good young talent that will improve with experience.

"We have a lot of seniors on the roster but will rely on several freshmen and sophomores to start and contribute heavily."

Dombrowski played on Hale's state-qualifying teams of 1998-99. He also played at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and later on professional teams.
