Whitnall's Graham on all-WIAC football team
Sean Graham, a Whitnall High School graduate, made the second All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) football team for the 2012 season.
Graham, a junior linebacker at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, led the Blugolds in tackles with 63 (44 solos, 19 assists) and in tackles for losses with 6½. He also recovered three fumbles, which was tied for first in the WIAC.
Greenfield's Szarzynski on all-WIAC soccer squad
Greenfield native Alex Szarzynski was named to the all-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) first team in soccer for 2012.
Szarzynski, a senior defender for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, helped the Warhawks rate second in the league in goals allowed per game at one. He was a key to Whitewater's goalkeepers posting the second-best goals-against average in the league at 1.01 and having to make the second-fewest saves per game in the WIAC.
He added a goal and three assists on the season for Whitewater, which went 8-5-3 overall.
Greenfield's Borts ends season with Lakeland kickers
Josh Borts of Greenfield recently finished his freshman season with the Lakeland College men's soccer team.
Borts played in all 19 matches for the Muskies, moving into a larger role as a midfielder as the season progressed.
The coaching staff plans an even larger role for him in 2013.
