Greenfield eighth-graders win conference tourney

The Greenfield Middle School eighth-grade boys basketball team won the Junior Southeast Conference Tournament at South Milwaukee on Jan. 24-25.

Team members are Jared Davis, Drew Kassel, Kyle Jablonski, Rudy Rodriguez, Donovan Reasby, Tyler Ahlborn, Elijah Valero, Ezekiel Banks, Nate King, Parker Panich, Mark Swider and Carson Hoppe. The team was coached by Joe Harkins.

The squad finished 10-3, with three straight victories in the tournament. Greenfield beat Oak Creek, 56-33, drilling eight 3-point field goals, then defeated Lake Denoon, 36-35, and Whitnall, 37-31, in the championship contest.

Tryouts for AAU teams Feb. 17 at Greenfield

Tryouts for fourth through 11th-grade boys and girls AAU traveling basketball teams will be held on Feb. 17, beginning at 1 p.m., at Greenfield High School, 4800 S. 60th St.

Higher Level Camps focuses on quality over quantity and features equal playing time and assistance for each player in developing an inside game, outside game and in-between game.
