Police Report: May 29

ROBBERY

A 17-year-old boy was choked by a man after he refused to surrender his bicycle to him at Liberty Heights Park, 6101 W. Orchard St., shortly before 8 p.m. May 17. The man was taken into custody for robbery and because he was on probation.

A man or a boy punched a 15-year-old girl in the face, knocking her off her bicycle, and then rode away on the bike, valued at $600, at Lincoln Intermediate School, 7815 W. Lapham St., about 7:20 p.m. May 18.

BURGLARY

A lawnmower valued at $350 was taken from a garage in the 1900 block of South 72nd Street between May 14 and 26.

A flat-screen television valued at $500 was taken from a residence in the 1300 block of South 65th Street on May 17.

A folding bicycle was taken from a storage locker in the 1400 block of South 70th Street between 5 p.m. May 16 and noon May 17. Several vehicles were rummaged through in the parking structure there, also.

A TV valued at $1,000 was taken from a residence in the 8700 block of West Mitchell Street between 8:30 p.m. May 18 and 5 p.m. May 19. A side window was forced open.

An apartment door was forced, and a leather jacket, two leather vests, a sword replica, and a wallet were taken in the 1400 block of South 92nd Street the night of May 18. No loss estimate was available.

Two broken windows and a wooden wall was kicked in at All Tune & Lube, 6607 W. Mitchell St., between May 18 and 23. It is not known if anything was taken.

A door of a home in the 8800 block of West Montana Avenue was pried open and copper piping connecting to the furnace was taken May 22. Damage to the door and appliances was estimated at $800.

A digital media player and a GPS unit valued at a total of $700 were taken from a car in the 8700 block of West McMyron Street the morning of May 22.

A video game player, four games and 20 DVDs were taken from an apartment in the 1900 block of South 84th Street May 25 to 28. There were no signs of forced entry.

THEFT

A ladder valued at $200 was taken from a yard in the 1900 block of South 72nd Street sometime in May.

A bicycle valued at $135 was taken from an open garage in the 12100 block of West Lakefield Drive between 1 and 3 p.m. May 16.

An estimated $750 damage was done to a van in order to steal a spare tire valued at $400 at Heiser Chevrolet, 10200 W. Arthur Ave., May 17.

Property valued at a total of $100 was taken from an unlocked vehicle in a lot in the 6400 block of West National Avenue between 1 and 6 p.m. May 17.

A wallet was taken from a locker at Blast Fitness, 9034 W. Greenfield Ave., between 2:45 and 3 p.m. May 18. The wallet contained $50 and credit cards.

A catalytic converter was cut off a car in an apartment lot in the 2200 block of South 81st Street between May 18 and 20.

A catalytic converter was cut off a vehicle in the 10800 block of West Morgan Avenue the night of May 18.

An SUV sustained an estimated $750 damage in an attempted theft in the 11000 block of West Wildwood Lane the night of May 19.

A motorcycle was taken from in front of the 1002 Bar, 1002 S. 60th St., between 2:30 and 10 a.m. May 19. No value was available for the motorcycle.

Air-conditioning equipment valued at $500 was taken from the 5700 block of West National Avenue May 19 to 20. A chain securing the gate in a fence was cut to gain entry.

A bicycle was taken from a residence in the 6900 block of West Greenfield Avenue the night of May 20.

An estimated $300 was taken from a wallet in a vehicle parked at MacDonald's Restaurant, 8301 W. Greenfield Ave., about 2 p.m. May 20.

About 100 pairs of jeans valued at $30 to $40 each were taken from a residence in the 2400 block of South 92nd Street between May 20 and 22. Losses totaled $3,000 to $4,000.

An outdoor air-conditioning unit was taken from the 2900 block of South 84th Street between May 21 and 24. The unit is valued at $3,000.

A stereo valued at $200 was taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 1900 block of South 78th Street May 22.

A 24-year-old woman tried to take $104 worth of merchandise from Kmart, 6900 W. Greenfield Ave., about 1 p.m. May 23.

A window of an SUV was smashed and a purse containing credit cards and identification was taken in the 2600 block of West National Avenue between 5 and 7:25 p.m. May 23.

A grill valued at $100 was taken from a yard in the 1700 block of South 60th Street on May 23.

Four tire rims were taken off a truck parked outside an auto body shop at 6607 W. Mitchell St. the night of May 24.

The Milwaukee County District Attorney's office is sorting out the case of a woman who called police because the man who was going to sell pills to her friends ran away with their $605. She said she called police in hopes that he would give the money back. The incident happened May 25 in the 10300 block of West Montana Avenue.

A purse that was left in a shopping cart at Sam's Club, 1540 S. 108th St., was taken the morning of May 26.

A watch valued at $2,500 was taken from a home in the 1900 block of South 55th Street while guests were there May 26.

An estimated $6,400 worth of power and hand tools were taken from a garage in the 1700 block of South 69th Street on May 26.

A radar detector valued at $300 and a cellphone charger cord were taken from a vehicle in the 1900 block of South 72nd Street about 12:30 a.m. May 27.

A stereo valued at $500 was taken from a car in the 1500 block of South 76th Street on May 27.

A man was booked for retail theft when he tried to steal a cart full of merchandise from Pick 'n Save, 2625 S. 108th St., about 9:10 a.m. May 28.

ASSAULT

Two women, ages 25 and 44, were cited in connection with a fight in the 7500 block of West Becher Street about 1:45 a.m. May 19. The 44-year-old was cited for disorderly conduct and the 25-year-old with battery.

A 15-year-old student was arrested and booked for battery after he threw a chair at another student, 16, and chipped his tooth in the cafeteria of West Allis Central High School, 8516 W. Lincoln Ave., on May 22. The boys were arguing at lunch and had been throwing garbage at each other.

A 30-year-old man was booked for battery after punching a 49-year-old woman in the face twice and spitting in her face when she asked him to leave in the 6100 block of West Burnham Avenue at about 11:30 p.m. May 27.

DRUG POSSESSION

A man, 22, and woman, 19, were booked for possession of a controlled substance after an unsmoked marijuana cigarette was found in their car in an alley in the 2000 block of South 71st Street about 3:15 a.m. May 19. Police had detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

A 21-year-old man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance after police found 3.11 grams of marijuana in his vehicle following a traffic stop in the 2000 block of South 108th Street about 12:10 a.m. May 27.

VANDALISM

A vehicle was scratched while it was parked at an apartment complex in the 11000 block of West Wildwood Lane between May 14 and 17.

Two tires were punctured on an SUV in the 6100 block of West Burnham Street the night of May 17.

The roof of a car was scratched in the 2900 block of South 102nd Street the night of May 19. Damage was estimated at $300 damage. A flagpole was also damaged.

Two tires were slashed on a vehicle at 90th Street and Greenfield Avenue the night of May 20.

A window was smashed on a car in the student parking lot of MATC, 1205 S. 70th St., between 9:35 and 11 a.m. May 24.

The north side of St. Augustine Church, 6762 W. Rogers St., was spray-painted by a vandal between May 24 and 25.

A wall at the West Allis Farmers Market, 6501 W. National Ave., was spray-painted the night of May 25.

A drunken 23-year-old man kicked and dented a car at the Dog House, 1641 S. 68th St., about 11:20 p.m. May 27.

A man believed to be in his 20s or 30s punctured three tires on a pickup truck in the 2400 block of South 64th Street about 12:30 a.m. May 28

The side of a car was scratched with a key, causing an estimated $500 damage, in the 9600 block of West Cleveland Avenue between noon and 1 p.m. May 28.

OTHER

A 24-year-old intoxicated man who refused to leave Danny's Lounge, 1900 S. 60th St. was arrested for disorderly conduct about 1 a.m. May 18.

A man was booked for lewd and lascivious conduct for masturbating in a car in the parking lot of the West Allis Public Library, 7421 W. National Ave., about 3:20 p.m. May 17.

A 43-year-old woman was cited for disorderly conduct for screaming and stamping loudly on the floor of her apartment in the 2000 block of South 89th Street about 8:30 p.m. May 20.

A girl walking to Lincoln Intermediate School, 7815 West Lapham St., the morning of May 24 was approached by a man driving a Yellow Cab and asked repeatedly if she wanted a ride to school. He said he would give her cigarettes. The cab followed her for a time.

Arson is suspected in a fire at the loading dock of Allied Pools, 1800 S. 108th St., on May 25. Cardboard boxes had been piled up and set on fire. The sprinkler system put out the fire. No damage estimate is available.

A man who was playing loud music and was uncooperative when police asked him to turn it down was booked for disorderly conduct in the 1200 block of South 104th Street about 10:45 p.m. May 27.

A 46-year-old woman was arrested after she forced her way into a residence in the 2000 block of South 69th Street before noon May 28. The woman claimed the people who live there were responsible for burglarizing her home.
