Mail carrier hurt in National Ave. crash

West Allis - An 84-year-old driver disregarded a red light and collided with a mail truck, causing the mail carrier to be ejected, West Allis police said.

According to police reports:

The accident happened about 9:55 a.m. Monday at 102nd Street and National Avenue as the car was westbound and the United States Postal Service truck was northbound.

The carrier was taken to a local hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries, police said.

Alcohol was not a factor, police said.
