County supervisor running for Assembly
West Allis - Milwaukee County Board Supervisor Joe Sanfelippo has announced he will run for the State Assembly in the 15th District, the newly redrawn district that includes parts of West Allis and New Berlin.
Sanfelippo, R-West Allis, will run on a platform of protecting the future for children by continuing to build on the progress that the state has seen over the past year.
"Competition among states for attracting and retaining businesses that will provide good-paying, reliable jobs is fierce," he said in a press release announcing his candidacy. "We as legislators and citizens need to make sure that when our kids finish school, whether it is at the college, graduate, technical, or trade school level, they have the opportunity and incentive to stay right here in Wisconsin. This is how we will continue moving Wisconsin forward."
He said he also would work to continue improving the business climate by eliminating outdated, costly regulations.
Sanfelippo has been a county supervisor since 2008. He said he strove to keep spending in check and introduced legislation aimed at reducing the size of the board itself. During his time on the board, Sanfelippo has served as chairman of the Personnel Committee and the Behavioral Health Facility Study Committee.
