Greenfield and West Allis differ in votes for president and U.S. Senate

Greenfield and West Allis were opposites in their support of presidential and Wisconsin's U.S. Senate candidates in Tuesday's general election, though not by wide margins in either race.
In Greenfield, Republican challenger Mitt Romney received 10,411 votes to Democrat incumbent President Barack Obama's 9,744. In the Senate race, Republican Tommy Thompson got 10,044 Greenfield votes and Democrat Tammy Baldwin received 9,439 votes.
In West Allis, Obama got 16,279 votes compared to Romney's 14,775, and Baldwin got 15,474 votes compared to Thompson's 14,508.
The results won't be official until the canvassing boards in each communities approves the final numbers.
In both municipalities, voter turnout, in terms of percentage of registered voters, was heavy - 91.6 percent in Greenfield and 85.8 percent in West Allis.
