Oct. 30, 2008

BURGLARY

Stereo equipment was taken from a storage room in an apartment in the 2000 block of South 102nd Street between Oct. 5 and 19.

An attempted burglary was reported at an apartment in the 5100 block of West Lincoln Avenue about 2:45 a.m. Oct. 21. An alarm sounded and possibly scared off an intruder.

A flat-screen television and jewelry were taken from a residence in the 1700 block of South 61st Street between 7:45 a.m. and 5 p.m. Oct. 21.

A refrigerator was taken from an apartment in the 5500 block of West Lincoln Avenue prior to 10:40 a.m. Oct. 21.

Three business checks were taken from Boring Bob's Tours, 7829 W. Greenfield Ave., between 4:30 and 11:45 p.m. Oct. 22. A window was broken for entry.

A computer monitor and $118 were taken from a residence in the 2100 block of South 72nd Street prior to 4:40 p.m. Oct. 22.

A garage in the 1100 block of South 61st Street was burglarized between 7 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. Oct. 23.

About $100 was taken from the Little Café, 9039 W. National Ave., between 6 p.m. Oct. 23 and 5:15 a.m. Oct. 24. A rear door was broken for entry. A door to Auto Drive Away Co., 9039-A W. National Ave., was found open but nothing was missing from the business.

Items were taken from a residence in the 2100 block of South 71st Street between 3:30 p.m. Oct. 24 and 10 a.m. Oct. 25.

Items were taken from a residence in the 7900 block of West Manitoba Street between 4:30 and 8:30 p.m. Oct. 24.

Two leaf blowers were taken from a garage in the 2300 block of South 74th Street about 5:50 p.m. Oct. 25.

A bicycle, air tank and numerous tools were taken from a garage in the 2300 block of South 77th Street between 9 p.m. Oct. 25 and 10 a.m. Oct. 26.

An air compressor was taken from a garage in the 2300 block of South 78th Street prior to 8 a.m. Oct. 26.

THEFT

A moped was taken from an underground parking garage in the 2000 block of South 102nd Street between Oct. 13 and Oct. 20.

About 130 CDs were taken from a vehicle in the 2000 block of South 102nd Street between 8:30 p.m. Oct. 19 and 9:20 a.m. Oct. 20.

Stereo equipment was taken from a vehicle in the alley behind the 1900 block of South 74th Street between 2:45 and 6 a.m. Oct. 20.

A purse was taken from a customer's shopping cart at Pick 'n Save, 6760 W. National Ave., while she was loading her groceries into her vehicle about 5:20 p.m. Oct. 20.

Tools were taken from a van in the 2000 block of South 90th Street between 10 p.m. Oct. 20 and 11 a.m. Oct. 21.

A stereo was taken from a vehicle in the 1300 block of South 103rd Street between 10:30 p.m. Oct. 20 and 4:45 a.m. Oct. 21.

About $120 was taken from a woman's purse at Busy Bubbles, 8436 W. Greenfield Ave., about 3:20 p.m. Oct. 21. The woman left the coin laundry about 3 p.m., and when she returned 15 minutes later, she discovered the money missing from her purse.

A stereo was taken from a vehicle in the 1600 block of South 63rd Street overnight Oct. 21.

A digital media player was taken from the 6200 block of West Mitchell Street between 12:15 a.m. and 1:50 p.m. Oct. 22.

About $325 in cologne was taken from Kohl's Department Store, 2601 S. 108th St., about 3:50 p.m. Oct. 22.

A vehicle was taken from the 1600 block of South 62nd Street about 10:30 a.m. Oct. 23.

A vehicle was taken from the 800 block of South 58th Street between 2:30 p.m. Oct. 23 and 3:45 a.m. Oct. 24.

Power tools were taken from two trailers at Hometown Windows and Doors, 10930 W. Rogers St., between 5 p.m. Oct. 23 and 6:20 a.m. Oct. 24.

A 26-year-old woman was arrested for taking more than $100 worth of merchandise from Pick 'n Save, 6760 W. National Ave., about 1:15 p.m. Oct. 25.

A purse was taken from a woman at Shawna's Pub and Grill, 1101 S. 60th St., about 2 a.m. Oct. 26.

A digital camera and a camcorder were taken from a vehicle in the 5900 block of West Burnham Street about 5:20 p.m. Oct. 26.

ASSAULT

A 26-year-old woman was choked and hit in the face in the 1500 block of South 59th Street about 6:50 p.m. Oct. 22.

A 40-year-old woman was arrested for disorderly conduct for throwing an ashtray at a bartender at Doppelgangers, 1022 S. 60th St., about 2 p.m. Oct. 24.

Two boys, 15 and 16, were arrested for disorderly conduct for fighting with a boy in the 2200 block of South 84th Street about 3 p.m. Oct. 24. The fight occurred in the street after West Allis Central High School let out for the day.

Two Nathan Hale High School students were arrested for disorderly conduct for fighting on a bus about 3:30 p.m. Oct. 24.

DRUG POSSESSION

A 44-year-old man was arrested for heroin possession in the 6700 block of West Greenfield Avenue about 11:10 p.m. Oct. 20.

34A 22-year-old man was arrested for marijuana possession during a traffic stop in the 9900 block of West Oklahoma Avenue about 1:45 a.m. Oct. 22.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

A 44-year-old man was arrested in the 1500 block of South 60th Street about 1:40 a.m. Oct. 24 for his third drunken-driving offense. While at the hospital, he refused to give blood, resisted and threatened officers, attempted to break the bed and was arrested for disorderly conduct.

VANDALISM

Eight windows were broken at Siemens, 6600 W. Washington St., about 3:40 p.m. Oct. 21. A manager saw six children throwing rocks at the windows.

Two vehicles' windows were broken in the 10900 block of West Lapham Street between 7 and 9 p.m. Oct. 23.

Two vehicles' tires were slashed in the 2100 block of South 71st Street prior to 5:20 a.m. Oct. 26.

Graffiti was found on the Corner Depot, 6321 W. Lincoln Ave., about 6 p.m. Oct. 26.

OTHER

A 47-year-old man was arrested for trespassing after he was found sleeping in an attic above Happy Tap Tavern, 6801 W. Beloit Road, about 8:40 a.m. Oct. 23. He also was arrested for obstructing an officer for giving police a fake name.

A 16-year-old girl was arrested for possessing drug paraphernalia in the 2100 block of South 72nd Street about 6:50 p.m. Oct. 23.

A 23-year-old woman was arrested for obstructing officers in the 5900 block of West Burnham Street about 8:45 p.m. Oct. 24. She had denied that a man, wanted on a felony warrant through the state Department of Corrections, was at her residence, but, after a search, police found him hiding in a closet.

An 18-year-old man was arrested for underage drinking and a 15-year-old boy was arrested for attempted theft and curfew violation in the 1100 block of South 98th Street about 1 a.m. Oct. 25. The boys were seen trying to open car doors shortly before the arrest.

A man was seen looking into an apartment window in the 10300 block of West Montana Avenue about 2:50 a.m. Oct. 25. He then knocked on the door and asked to enter in order to "have a good time."

Four men were arrested for disorderly conduct while armed - two with golf clubs, one with a skateboard and one with a screwdriver - and another man was arrested for disorderly conduct after a fight near 82nd and Grant streets about 8:30 p.m. Oct. 26. One of the men also was arrested for possessing a controlled substance after officers found him with prescription pills.
