Domestic incident

ends in weapons charges

Michael D. Seifert, 51, West Allis, was charged by the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office with second degree recklessly endangering safety, use of a dangerous weapon, domestic abuse, class G felony failure to comply with an officer's attempt to take him into custody and other charges.

They all stem from an incident at 1 a.m. June 8 at his home in the 1700 block of S. 70th St. Police came because of a domestic disturbance complaint. Police allege that Seifert would not come out to speak with officers.

Preliminary investigation reveals that while officers were attempting dialog and negotiations with the suspect for approximately 21/2 hours, he threatened officers while standing in his doorway holding a shotgun.

Officers discharged firearms, striking the suspect in his arm and possibly grazing the side of his face in the area of his eye. He dropped his shotgun but refused to comply with officers' attempts to take him into custody until he was Tasered, police said.

He was taken to Froedtert Memorial Hospital for treatment.
