Bar, customers robbed at gun point after shooting

Patrons were forced to the floor when a man armed with a gun robbed the Oval Bar, 9141 W. National Ave., at 1:18 a.m. Dec. 2.

According to a West Allis police report:

A man wearing a ski mask entered the tavern and displayed a revolver. He fired one shot into the ceiling before ordering all the patrons to the floor. He took $700 from the cash register, plus money sitting on the bar.

Bank robber threatens teller with 'remote bombs'

A man robbed PNC Bank, 10725 W. National Ave., about 6 p.m. Nov. 29.

According to a West Allis police report:

A man wearing a wig and baseball cap walked into the bank and handed a note to a teller. The note stated that two remote bombs were placed around the bank and that they would be detonated if police were called or a silent alarm was activated.

The offender left the bank with $5,113.99. No bombs were found.

Robber armed with knife beaten by intended victim

A would-be robber was beaten after attempting to rob a West Allis man at knifepoint near the intersection of 74th and Becher streets at 10:45 p.m. Dec. 3.

According to a West Allis police report:

The robber demanded money from the intended victim, who happened to be walking by. The robber then swung a knife at the man. But instead of handing the assailant cash, the man blocked the suspect's swing and disarmed him.

The intended victim punched the suspect several times before fleeing to the 2100 block of South 85th Street, where his friends convinced him to call police.
