Man found guilty in West Allis teen sex exploitation case

May 21, 2014 9:41 p.m. | Last summer, teen girls in West Allis were buzzing about a Facebook group called Kittens Inc., an all-girls club that was supposed to be "about supporting each other and being kind."

It was the furthest thing from that.

Prosecutors say convicted child molester Robert Wayne Huber Jr., 45, had created the club to attract vulnerable young girls, two of whom he repeatedly videotaped as he engaged them in sex in his room at a halfway house in Riverwest.

The crimes unraveled after a West Allis Hale High School student left her Facebook page up on an unattended computer and someone else read messages and told authorities. Huber, who was using the name Alex Adon, was arrested on Halloween outside a Kmart.

On Wednesday, a jury took less than an hour to find him guilty of 25 felonies, including sexual assault of a child, child enticement and use of a computer to facilitate a child sex crime, exploitation and physical abuse of a child.

John Moebs, last seen at Brother's Bar on Water St. on May 3, was identified through fingerprints and no evidence of injuries or trauma was found, authorities said Wednesday.

Police and dive teams with the Milwaukee Fire Department were called to the lakefront about 8 a.m. Tuesday after Moebs' body was found near Lincoln Memorial Drive and Lagoon Drive.

Body found in lake said to be that of missing West Milwaukee man

May 20, 2014 11:08 p.m. | A person walking Tuesday morning along Milwaukee's lakefront reported a body floating in the water, and authorities have identified it as that of a missing West Milwaukee man, according to a Facebook page launched after his disappearance.

The man, John Moebs, 33, was last seen at a Water St. restaurant in Milwaukee in early May.

"Milwaukee police and West Milwaukee police have confirmed that the dead body pulled from Lake Michigan belongs to John P. Moebs," the Facebook post says. "Identification card was found with the body. Medical Examiner is running dental records."

Police and dive teams with the Milwaukee Fire Department responded Tuesday around 8 a.m. after the body was found near Lincoln Memorial Drive and Lagoon Drive. An area at McKinley Park was roped off while authorities investigated.

The Milwaukee County medical examiner's office also responded to the scene, and police said results of an autopsy are pending.
