Grow up and drink the coffee..
Throughout the summer, one of my favorite activities includes live music. Not only do I love to “sing” under the guise of loud music, the dancing gets me every time. Just like whipped cream and a cherry, summertime friends top it off. There is nothing like catching up while rocking to the beat.
I recently hit up a church festival. Three stages allowed a variety for listening pleasure. As I wandered, I thought, where can I find bottled water? After stopping at two or three vendors, reality hit. Only one small booth had what I desired. So much for being a non-alcoholic type of girl.
Refuse Carts on Sale

Day 2 - State Fair Blog done (Sponsor's Name Here)-style
Hmmm, seemed like something has been happening in the State Fair Park area, but I can't put my finger on it. What could it be?
CAR WASH TODAY!!
I usually do not write about events and such, but I just had to! I was fortunate enough to drive past a car wash within a short distance from my home
The charge is $5.00 per car. It was the best hand car wash I had ever received. Inch by inch, tires and all, my car was scrubbed clean. Needless to say, I am impressed!
Day 3 - State Fair Blog done (Sponsor's Name Here)-style
Saturdays during the State Fair can get pretty hectic in the neighborhood. There seems to be two completely separate sets of clientele on Saturdays.
OH YES HE DID!!!
My email, “Hey you!!! I need your help... wondering if you or any guy you know was ever a "player"... looking to write a new article about how men view sex when it's outside of a committed relationship... an 'In all honesty" type of article.. completely confidential, no names will be used in the writing of this whatsoever.”
His response, “Send me the questions.”
A Tribute to Our Special Forces
August 6, 2011 the ultimate sacrifice was made by "22 SEALs, three Air Force combat controllers and a dog handler and his dog." Though the families' names have not been released, I am paying honor to the the soldiers & praying for their families as they go through an incredibly emotional and devastating time in their lives.
I have friends and family, who have served and are serving. I may never understand what drives them to commit to the unknown. In my eyes, it takes a special kind of person to take their journey. They made the choice knowing what the outcome could be. They have done this for both you and me.
Day 4 - State Fair Blog done (Sponsor's Name Here)-style
I am exhausted. I hate humid weather. I hate the fact that the city chopped down our shade tree a couple of years ago. I hate being a fat tub of goo that wilts in the humid sunshine.
Day 5 - State Fair Blog done (Sponsor's Name Here)-style
The five cars parked today were the result of grit and determination. I turned off of 92nd St onto Orchard, and there seemed like plenty of street parking spots available, and only one guy down the block was making the effort to fill his yard.
Day 6 - State Fair Blog done (Sponsor's Name Here)-style
Well, I finally made it to the State Fair this year... and let me tell you how lucky we are to have gotten the break in the humidity in time! We left home around 12:30 PM completely energized by the weather. If we could just bottle this day....
Day 7 - State Fair Blog done (Sponsor's Name Here)-style
This is one of those "not a lot to say" days.
Day 8 - State Fair Blog done (Sponsor's Name Here)-style
It seemed like half the people that were parking in my yard yesterday were headed to the Whitesnake concert. The other day, I parked a disturbing number of people in cowboy hats and brand new cowboy boots. Tonight looks to be more of the same.

Four-Way Stop Signs - CAREFUL!
Twice in the past month, I have almost gotten hit by drivers who have blown through a four-way stop sign at 43rd and Coldspring. The last one was a woman traveling at a high rate of speed and chit chatting on her cell phone! She's a lawsuit waiting to happen in some people's minds. I'd like to remind everyone of the fact that they must watch carefully at all stop signs and lights before crossing - if a car seems as though it will not stop, WAIT. If someone is impatient with you because you are waiting and being cautious - too bad. I'd rather be safe than sorry.
Be Safe. Don't trust that the other driver will stop because there's a stop sign or a stop light.
