Day 1 Part 2 - State Fair Blog done (Sponsor's Name Here)-style

2012 State Fair, Free market, James family, State Fair, West Allis

Well, this entry won't be too exciting.  When I wrote Part 1 last night, I was under the impression that I would have oodles and oodles of anecdotes as (Sponsor's Name Here)'s Official Son, Mitten, along his friend The First "She Is The One" went to the Fair during the day, and (Sponsor's Name Here)'s Official Step-daughter, Sloppy, along with her friend Larry II also spent much of the day there. (Side note; Sorry for leading with the truth, but at this point, the Hit-o-Meter has already registered your visit to my site, and I thank you).

2012 State Fair, My-Sugar-Na, State Fair, West Allis, Weather

Am I the only one that has grown completely tired of this constant heat and humidity?  You know what I am doing this afternoon?  Hunkering in my bunker and watching Once Upon a Time in America from the DVR (you know, it is Mob Week on AMC).  Watching that four hour movie should get me to dinner time.

2012 State Fair, Bowling, My-Sugar-Na, Restaurants, State Fair, West Allis

Presented by Bowlers Pro Shop.  From bowling balls to advice to Mittens, you can find it all from Joe Cerar and his staff.

This idea I had about writing a blog without living three blocks from the Fair is tougher than it looks... the good news is that I will likely be going to the Fair twice on Sunday (once with My-Sugar-Na) and once with Bowlers' Pro Shop's Official Daughter, Gooey (though I am still not sure how that sounds, Joe).

Presented by Bowlers Pro Shop.  From bowling balls to advice to Gooey Mittens, you can find it all from Joe Cerar and his staff.

I do love the State Fair, despite (or myabe in spite of) how similar the Fair is every year, while changing just enough to keep it interesting.  I didn't do anything differently than I have at previous Fairs, but I had just as good of a time as ever.

Presented by Bowlers Pro Shop.  From bowling balls to advice to Gooey Mittens, you can find it all from Joe Cerar and his staff.

Tuesday marks the halfway point of the eleven day run.  The "It's finally Here!" mood has subsuded, the "Is it over yet?" feelins haven't begun, and other than being able to turn left this year because I live far enough away, the Fair isn't affecting me.

2012 State Fair, My-Sugar-Na, Restaurants, State Fair, Weather, West Allis

Presented by Bowlers Pro Shop, where the rubber meets the road,

Crazy Grazin' Day was a little warmer than it was when we were there on Sunday, and that allowed for a day-long, glorious walk through the less-attended Fair.  We knew it would be better when we drove to the old neighborhood and parked less than a block from our old house.  Nobody on Orchard St. was out parking cars (though, in fairness, it was just past Noon-thirty).

2012 State Fair, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, One Idiot is Offended, State Fair, West Allis

Presented by Bowlers Pro Shop, where the rubber meets the road.

I allow myself one punt per State Fair season.  That is today, and in looking at the history, it always appears to be Day 7.  To reiterate, I no longer live close enough to the State Fair to get involved with neighborhood buzz, and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel refuses to give me ideas, managing only to tell me how to eat a cream puff (Side note; I can solve that in one sentence. "You only get it wrong once".)

2012 State Fair, My-Sugar-Na, State Fair, West Allis

Brought to you by Bowlers Pro Shop.  Becuase which is more fun, watching your bowling ball going 50 feet down the lane, or watching it go 60+ feet AND hitting some pins? And if you stop by and tell Joe Cerar that you saw this blurb on my blog, he'll say "Oh, him."

Though Thursday was cloudy, rainy and cool during the day, most of the first week of the Fair had temperatures at or above 80 degrees and sunny (often with high humidity).  As My-Sugar-Na and I made our way through the animal barns the other day, I took the opportunity to interview some of the animals.

2012 State Fair, Bowling, My-Sugar-Na, Restaurants, State Fair, West Allis

Presented by Bowlers Pro Shop, because large boulders are no longer effective in the modern game.

Friday evening I took my last of five trips into the State Fair for 2012, and with My-Sugar-Na in tow, we left right after getting home from work with no specific agenda (other than eating dinner and enjoying a crisp evening and not sweating through the day)

As we round the home stretch of the 2012 Wisconsin State Fair, the weather again was picture perfect, and very similar to last Sunday.

2012 State Fair, Local news, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Other blogs, State Fair, West Allis

Presented by Bowlers Pro Shop because... well, because I said so.

The 2012 Wisconsin State Fair ended its run on Sunday, and because no riots, ride malfunctions nor deaths occurred, it passed by without even a reference by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel or any of the TV news station websites.  No blurb I could find... not even a mention that it is now concluded.
