Fit to be Tied

In December, my husband, also named Steve, steps away from his usual business wardrobe and brings out his holiday ties. From December 1 until New Year's Eve, he is resplendent (in his opinion anyway) in red ties with candy canes, deep blue ties with Santa racing across the sky and ... well, you get the drift.

The other day he had a wardrobe malfunction of sorts. As he got out of the car, the sound button on his tie -- yes, most of these ties are audio-equipped with Christmas music -- fell to the ground. While this would defeat most Beau Brummels, my industrious husband simply pocketed the device and headed into the hospital pharmacy he heads. After explaining his sad situation to one of his employees, she came up with a solution. The button now is affixed to the pharmacy wall and every pharmacist and tech can press the button for the entire pharmacy to enjoy the sounds of Christmas. And they do. No wonder he likes his job so much.

From Steve Makovec and me -- as well as our spouses -- we wish you the Merriest of Christmases and a Very Happy New Year! See you in the theater in 2012!!!
