Children's Series
On January 22, The West Allis Players will be presenting the second in our Children's Series with the play "The Land of the Dragon." This show, being done by the Village Playhouse of Wawautosa, is based on the story of Cinderella, done with an Asian flair. The show will last approximately an hour.
The lovely Princess Jade Pure is practically held as a prisoner by her mean step-aunt. A traveling musician, Road Wanderer, hears of her plight as he travels through the country with his pet dragon. He rescues the princess, but leaves her because he thinks she is thoughtless and unkind.
Jade Pure wants to find him again and announces that the man she marries must have a pet dragon. Two fake dragons appear, with their owners trying to gain the princess' hand in marriage. Just before she makes a very bad mistake, Road Wandered reappears to save Jade Pure and everyone lives happily ever after. Lots of color, lots of action -- a great afternoon of theater for the younger audience.
Our Children's Series is performed at West Allis Nathan Hale High School, 117th and Lincoln Avenue. The doors are on 117th Street. There is no outdoor sign. Show time is 2 p.m. and all tickets are $4. Visit our website www.waplayers.org for more details
