I work very hard and am attending college to obtain my degree in the Human Service field. Writing makes me feel alive and gives me the opportunity to touch those whom I would not be able to otherwise. Last but not least, I have been blessed with two amazing daughters who love me completely and support my dreams. Feel free to contact me with questions, concerns or feedback.
With the recent passing of Thanksgiving, I gave much thought to what I am most thankful for. My list is short, sweet and to the point.
Regarding the individuals in my life, I am thankful for.........
First and foremost: my dad, Thomas Hendricks. Because of you, I live without fear. I realize your passing has allowed me the opportunity to stand on my own two feet. Thanks for being my best friend and confidante. I miss everything about you; your smile, laughter, touch, embrace and most important, unconditional love.
Michelle, my friend of 25 plus years, we struggled through high school together. I appreciate the fact that we have so much in common after such a long time apart. I am so very proud of everything you have accomplished.
Yvette, my friend and sister for 20 plus years; you are a straight shooter and spare no expense. I appreciate your perfect balance between sugar and spice. Thank you for not allowing me to stray too far off the beaten path. I would have loved for us to retire out of the U.S. Army together. You go girl!!
Wes, the only guy who has been completely honest with me for 5 or however many years. Each and every time I see you can be described similar to Christmas morning. Thanks for allowing me 3, 5 or a dozen girl moments every year.
Cindy, the ultimate Elvis fan; even after all this time, we still have this bond. Amazing, but true. Thanks for being a true friend and allowing me to be myself.
Patti, one of my newest confidantes, you know who you are. Thanks for listening, supporting and allowing me to be a part of your life. You’re way cool. Cheers to you moving closer to me or vice versa.
To everyone who I have been reunited with through social networking; thanks for listening. I appreciate each and every one of you. Even after all these years, it’s great to see how you’re doing.
To all of my new friends through social networking; thanks for adding to my life in one way or another.
A special thanks to Justin,, Jan, Wade, Tricia, TJ, Colleen, Merilee, Bobbi, Bob I, Bob S, Terra, Steve, Stacy, Tim, Oscar, and everyone else on my “list”. You know who you are.
I am also thankful for sleep, reading, nature, art, color, a healthy mind, body, spirit and support system. The five senses which allow me to hear music, see the beauty of life, feel love, taste exqusitie cuisine and smell the roses. The ability to recognize positive from negative, the strength to let go, a quiet and peaceful home, the blessings of conceiving and the opportunity to begin anew.
Last but not least, the ability to express myself through writing and tattoos. My latest and greatest: “I am not afraid of life or death nor the in between… The journey itself cannot be planned, lies in the unforeseen.”
