Laura's Corner

I work very hard and am attending college to obtain my degree in the Human Service field. Writing makes me feel alive and gives me the opportunity to touch those whom I would not be able to otherwise. Last but not least, I have been blessed with two amazing daughters who love me completely and support my dreams. Feel free to contact me with questions, concerns or feedback.

Of A Lifetime...

I will be the first to admit, Rod Stewart is my FAVORITE singer.  I admittedly freak out approximately a week or so prior to the event. The concert brings out my inner child.

My youngest is a huge fan of Taylor Swift.  My daughter can sing any of her songs, day or night, asleep or awake.  My desire was to purchase tickets for the recent concert.  Unfortunately, I waited a bit too long and it was sold out within hours.

ONE DAY before the concert I was gifted two great seats.  As I revealed the surprise my daughter began to cry.  She hugged me for what seemed like the longest time in her 18 years.  I believe I was granted 100 gold stars at that very moment.

Although the names escape me, the opening bands were amazing.  It wasn’t until approximately 8:15pm that Taylor appeared on stage.  From the minute it started until the very end, I felt as if I was experiencing something magical.

Taylor sang all of her hits, the ones I have heard two million and one times.  She was very interactive, grateful and, during the concert, accepted her award for the Video of the Year award during the CMA's.  At one point during he concert she ran to the opposite end of the Bradley Center, took a seat on a small bench and sang a few more songs.  Afterwards, she ran back around the other side and returned to the main stage.  She eventually walked onto a small platform and proceeded to fly through the air around the entire arena.

The dancers and band were simply amazing, the crowd, more than pleasurable, the air, magnetic.

To be honest, I went to this event for my daughter.  The last hurrah with my last but not least.  Yet what I experienced was so much more.  I now understand the pull, the music and most important, why so many people love and adore this young woman.  She put on the show of a lifetime and is the ultimate performer.  She is gracious, loves her fans, and most important, is grateful to have the opportunity to perform and touch people along the way.

Thanks to Taylor for being a role model and also for the concert of a lifetime. Come back soon!!
